How to read this

Pitch (F0) is how high or low your voice sits. Resonance (F1/F2) is about vocal tract shape — a smaller, shorter tract resonates at higher frequencies. Pitch and resonance are independent: you can raise one without the other, but most perceived-gender shifts come from moving both together.

Moving resonance higher

  • Raise larynx slightly (gentle "lift" feeling in throat)
  • Spread lips a bit (subtle smile shape)
  • Forward tongue position
  • Watch your yellow dot move up-and-right on the vowel chart
  • Don't just raise pitch without resonance — that's how voices get strained or falsetto-y.

These descriptions are orientations, not prescriptions. Your voice goals are yours. Measurement ≠ verdict.
